What Just Happened
Anthropic just shipped a new feature for Claude Cowork called Dispatch. And it changes how the whole thing works.
Here's the idea. You have Claude Cowork running on your desktop. Now with Dispatch, you can message it from your phone. Tell it what to do. Then put your phone away and go live your life. When you come back, the work is done.

Claude Cowork, one of the most powerful tools, especially for non-coders.
ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Anthropic Turns Your Computer Into an Always-On AI Worker
Felix Rieseberg, the guy who leads Cowork and Claude Code Desktop at Anthropic, announced it today. One persistent conversation with Claude that lives on your computer but you can reach from anywhere.

The use cases he showed off are wild. He mentioned things like creating reports from internal dashboards and finding a better seat on an upcoming flight. All while he's not even at his desk.
The key details. Claude still runs everything locally in a sandbox on your machine. Your files never leave your computer. You still approve what Claude touches before it acts. Your desktop does have to be running for it to work. It's rolling out now to Max subscribers with Pro access coming in the next few days.
This is basically Anthropic turning your computer into a server that works for you 24/7. You text it a task from dinner. It gets to work. You come home to finished files.
Why This Is A Bigger Deal
Because this is the moment AI stops being a thing you sit in front of and becomes a thing that works in the background.
Up until now, every AI tool required you to be there. You open ChatGPT or Claude, you type, you wait, you get a response. Dispatch flips that. You fire off a task and walk away. Claude figures it out while you do something else entirely.
Think about what this means for how people actually work. You're commuting and you remember you need a report pulled together before tomorrow. You text Claude from your phone. By the time you get home it's sitting on your desktop ready to review.
Anthropic built Cowork in a week and a half using Claude Code. Now they're turning it into something that makes your entire computer an autonomous worker. And they're doing it while the desktop app is still in research preview. This thing is moving fast.

OpenAI Ups The Score
Also Today
OpenAI dropped GPT-5.4 mini and GPT-5.4 nano today. Two smaller and cheaper versions of their flagship model. Mini runs more than 2x faster than the previous GPT-5 mini and nearly matches the full GPT-5.4 on some benchmarks. Nano is the absolute cheapest option for developers who need speed over everything else. Mini is available in ChatGPT for free users through the Thinking feature. Nano is API only. These are developer and enterprise plays. If you're a regular ChatGPT user you probably won't notice much difference in your day to day.

Announcement From OpenAI
Where This Is All Going
Dispatch is a research preview right now but the direction is obvious. Your computer becomes your AI employee and your phone becomes the remote control.
Right now your desktop has to be running. That's a limitation. But you can already see where this goes next. Always-on cloud instances. Background agents that don't need your laptop open. Tasks that run overnight and have results waiting in the morning.
Anthropic's help center already lists what you can do from your phone. Pull data from local spreadsheets and compile reports. Search your Slack and email then draft a briefing doc. Build a presentation from files in your Google Drive. Organize an entire folder while you're on the train.
And here's the thing nobody is talking about yet. Microsoft reorganized its entire Copilot team today. They're unifying their commercial and consumer AI divisions and freeing up their AI chief Mustafa Suleyman to go work on superintelligence instead. Why? Because Cowork is eating their lunch. They literally built Copilot Cowork on top of Anthropic's tech last week and now Anthropic is already shipping the next version.
The gap between "AI chatbot" and "AI coworker" just got a lot smaller. Dispatch isn't the final version of this. It's the first version. And that should make every SaaS company very nervous.
Meme Of The Day 😂
We’ve already seen this meme dozens of times, but it feels like the perfect use, especially on a day like today.

What's The Recap
Anthropic shipped Dispatch for Cowork. Text Claude from your phone, it works on your computer while you're away. OpenAI dropped two smaller cheaper models. One of these changes how you work. The other makes spreadsheets load faster. You decide which matters more.
