Anthropic just dropped one of the biggest features in Claude's history. Claude can now use your computer. Not just read files or run code. Actually point, click, and navigate your screen like a second person sitting at your desk. It opens apps. It browses the web. It fills in spreadsheets. It runs dev tools. All on its own.

Lets See An Example

Here's what Anthropic shipped today. In Claude Cowork and Claude Code, you can now enable Claude to use your computer to complete tasks. When Claude doesn't have a connector or tool for what it needs, it navigates your screen directly. Clicking, typing, and opening apps just like you would. No setup required.

Claude is smart about it too. It reaches for the most precise tool first. If there's a connector for Slack or Google Calendar, it uses that. When there isn't a connector, it falls back to actually controlling your screen. Mouse, keyboard, browser, everything.

It works with Dispatch. That means you can text Claude a task from your phone, and it physically controls your Mac while you're away. You come home and the work is done. Not just a file sitting in a folder. Actual work completed across real applications on your actual desktop.

The safety controls are real. Claude asks permission before accessing each application. Some sensitive apps like trading platforms and crypto are blocked by default. You can add any app to a blocklist. And you can review actions before Claude executes them.

Because this is the moment Claude stops being an AI inside a chat window and starts being an AI inside your entire computer.

Think about what this means. Before today, every AI tool lived in its own box. ChatGPT lives in a browser tab. Claude Code lives in a terminal. Cowork lives in a folder. They could only touch what you gave them direct access to.

Computer use breaks that wall. Claude can now interact with any application on your Mac. Your email client. Your browser. Your spreadsheets. Your IDE. Your project management tool. Anything with a screen, Claude can use.

Combined with everything Anthropic shipped this month the picture is staggering. Dispatch lets you text tasks from your phone. Channels lets Telegram, Discord, and Slack push messages into sessions. Scheduled tasks run in the cloud without your computer on. And now computer use lets Claude control your actual desktop.

That's a full stack. Remote control from your phone. Messaging integration from any platform. Cloud automation. And now physical computer control. There is no gap left. Claude can do anything you can do on a computer.

Anthropic also published the official blog post tying computer use and Dispatch together as one vision. The framing is clear. Claude starts with connectors when they exist. When they don't, Claude uses your screen directly. And Dispatch makes all of it accessible from your phone. The message from Anthropic is simple. Claude isn't an assistant anymore. It's a coworker that happens to be an AI.

Claude can now control your Mac. Point, click, navigate, open apps, browse the web, fill spreadsheets. Pair it with Dispatch and you can assign tasks from your phone while Claude works on your desktop. This is the biggest Claude drop since Cowork itself. The chat window era is officially over.
